Interested in getting involved?
The Lansing Bike Co-op is run by the people who use it. Everyone who helps keep this shop open, from regular wrench-turners to board members, is part of the same community effort. The best way to join is to stop by during Open Shop Hours or attend a board meeting. It all starts with showing up
What do people do here?
People work on bikes that have been shared with the Co-op, preparing them for new riders. They also assist anyone who comes in to fix their own bike using our tools and space. All skill levels are welcome. This is a place to learn by doing, side by side with others. Every repair, every organized part bin, and every conversation helps keep this resource strong for the whole community.
Not a bike mechanic?
Start by coming to a mechanic class, you’ll learn everything you need to get rolling. But if classes don’t work for you, or you’d rather help in other ways, that’s fine too. Everyone has useful skills to share. Beyond bike repair, we need people to welcome others at the door, sort and organize parts, maintain the shop space, plan events, handle communications, and care for the building. However, you contribute, you’re helping sustain a vital community resource
