The Lansing Bike Co-op empowers our community through bicycle education
and access. We provide a welcoming space for taking transportation into our own hands.
The idea behind the co-op is a simple one:
Provide a space where anyone regardless of race, color, national origin, spiritual belief, age, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation or physical ability can come and learn the skills necessary to fix and maintain their own bicycle.
Even if we don’t own a car or aren’t lucky enough to live near a bus route, we all deserve access to reliable, safe, and timely transportation. Whether it’s going to work, school, the doctor’s office, buying groceries and medicine, or meeting up with friends and family, these are the activities that make up the fabric our lives. Transportation is the thread holding that fabric together and here at the co-op, we’ve found that bicycles meet a lot of potential transportation needs.
